The Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command, CP Olubenga Adepoju, psc, mnips, fcai, has conferred a meritorious honor on CSP Yusuf Abdullahi Idi, the Chief Security Officer to the Honourable Minister of Livestock Development. The accolade was bestowed in recognition of his superlative professionalism, unwavering dedication, and sterling service to the Nigeria Police Force.
This distinguished recognition serves as a testament to CSP Idi’s illustrious trajectory within the Rivers State Police Command. His tenure was not merely one of duty, but of transformative impact, characterized by courage, foresight, and an unrelenting pursuit of public order.
CSP Idi previously held the pivotal office of Anti-Cultism Commander in Rivers State, where he was the arrowhead in the relentless onslaught against cultism and its attendant vices. The initiative, once a Rivers State brainchild, is now being heralded as a best-practice model for replication across the length and breadth of Nigeria.
In his address while presenting the award, CP Adepoju extolled CSP Idi’s exemplary leadership and sagacious vision. He affirmed that the edifice upon which POCACOV stands was erected on the foundation of CSP Idi’s initiative, tenacity, and measurable contributions to public safety in Rivers State.
The investiture ceremony took place in Port Harcourt on the 15th of July, 2026, during the relaunch of POCACOV and its 7th anniversary commemoration.
