The Nsirim Royal Family of Rumueme Kingdom has formally denounced the purported coronation of Dr. Larry Azunda Nsirim as the new Nyenwe-Eli of Rumueme, branding the event a “sacrilegious” travesty.
A statement jointly issued by Prince Nyeche Henry Omunakwe Nsirim, Prince Ezenwo Omunakwe Nsirim, and Chief Nsirim Nsirim, the family has condemned the actions of the Rumueme Council of Chiefs, deeming them an unlawful and politically motivated machination.
The family has asserted that the exercise constitutes a betrayal of the revered legacy of their late father and monarch, His Royal Majesty, Omunakwe Nyeche Nsirim (MON), a founding father of the modern Rumueme Kingdom. They have specifically implicated the Chairman of the Rumueme Kingdom Council of Traditional Rulers, Chief Larry Nyeche, in orchestrating the event in secrecy, with the aim of fomenting confusion in the royal succession and precipitating a crisis.
According to the statement, the coronation is illegitimate, as it has bypassed the time-honored traditional processes and customary sequences requisite for occupying the sacred Nyenwe-Eli Rumueme stool.
The Nsirim family has emphasized that the throne is a sacred inheritance, not a political appointment, and has cautioned against allowing “unfettered ambition” to destabilize the peace of the kingdom for personal or political gain.
The family has urged the people of Rumueme to remain tranquil and peaceful, insisting that any legitimate ascension to the throne must follow the established pathway of truth and due process.
