The Ado royal family of Okrika the sole legitimate custodian of the history, traditions, and stool of the Amanyanabo of Okrika and Clan head says they have not installed any king and disassociate from unlawful proposed self enthronement of Hon. Godknows Tam George as Amanyanabo of Okrika and clan.
This was contained in statement signed by Prof Sotonye Fyneface-Ogan (Ogan Ado Royal House) Alabo Engr. Henry Semenitari Abam (Abam Ado Royal House and Alabo Prince Oriyeorikabo Fibika (Fibika Ado Royal House) on behalf of Ado family while briefing journalists, on Friday at the NUJ Press Centre Moscow Road, in Port Harcourt.
According to the statement the action of Hon. Tam George was a blatant assault on the collective integrity of the Okrika people, and a criminal act of impersonation with the potential to destabilize the peace and socio-political fabric of our ancient kingdom.
“The Ado royal family have never presented him as a candidate, nor has he undergone any of the prerequisite rites, consultations, or confirmations. His actions are those of a lone interloper, operating in a vacuum of legitimacy.
” Apart from that the stool of the Amanyanabo of Okrika and Clan Head is not a trinket to be claimed by academic qualification, political ambition, or personal aggrandizement. It is an ancient institution, steeped in the history, sacrifices, and spiritual consciousness of the Okrika people. The lineage traces back through centuries, with succession governed by immutable customs” the statement said.
Speaking during the briefing Prof. Fyneface-Ogan reiterated that to crown a king has a process and those processes have not taken place.
” We are the Chiefs , we are the ones that will be part of the selection. Honestly we have not started selecting process but started the discussion.
“During the selection process the Chiefs will supervise because every constituent House will nominate two or three to be part of the selection process, all these have not been done.
I want to assure that non of the Ado family Chiefs have given Hon. Tam George any sign of approval”, He said.
In a bid to balance the story, frantic efforts through text message, WhatsApp messages and calls to reach Hon. Godknows Tam George for his reaction approved abortive as he did not respond to all messages sent to him.
